ER in the Blogosphere

You never forget your first one.

Blog link, that is.  AdingValue.com was my first.  The site, written by Andre (who not so coincidentally provided some technical consultation on EnergyRace system design), did a thoughtful entry on EnergyRace.  Click here to take a look.  Andre is a good writer and he covers a nicely varied list of topics: advertising, web software, social networks, viral videos, etc..  Go take a look, but be careful; time passes very fast over there on that addicting site.

We had a visitor this morning from Germany who gave EnergyRace a nice review though he naturally questioned why EnergyRace addresses just the US since climate change is a global problem.  A good question.  The answer is mostly that supporting other countries vastly increases the amount of data I need to source and load (international cars, mileage, electricity use by household, carbon intensity of electricity by country, and so on).

The other reason is that the US creates more CO2 than any other country and it has done the least to reduce it’s CO2 emissions.  So, like a student who has fallen behind her classmates, the US needs a little extra attention to catch up.
