Shell Oil Joins US Climate Action Partnership
May 5th, 2007 by jayb
Shell Oil is now the 3rd oil company to join the US Climate Action Partnership
AP, via MSNBC, reports that ‘Royal Dutch Shells U.S. arm said Monday it has joined a corporate/environmental coalition urging Congress to require limits on greenhouse gases tied to global warming, the third oil major to do so.’
Cynics may question their motives but if they are doing so because they see profit in it, that is great news. What could be better than American business seeing opportunity in doing the right thing?
Besides Shell, BP, ConocoPhillips, the industry and environmental partnership group includes GE, Alcoa, Duke Energy, P. G. and E. and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
